Put these in a Strat clone I built. I fell in love with them almost immediately. The more I played the more I realized these are special pups. What surprised me about them was the sensitivity they exhibit. When I have my amp turned up and turn the pups down, they still have a quality to them that I haven't experienced before. To me, the clean of these pups are excellent. They have that very silky smooth Strat sound. And I could go on about the clean, but make no mistake, these things rock... HARD!! Yep, Hugh calls 'em "Texas Smoke" for a reason. These things sound killer when cranked!! Thanks Hugh. You got a winner here buddy.

hi Stephen! I’m very happy you like them! I put a lot into every set. I am very particular about tone. My pickups don’t leave the shop until I’m satisfied they sound the way I want them to. Enjoy!
Hand Wound 5762 set. Low wind with A2 Magnets for a warmer vintage tone.

These Strat pickups are hidden Gems, made in small quantities in a home shop. Killer tone. Beautiful and powerful.

Thank you for the kind words. I put my heart and soul into every pickup I wind. I am my worst critic so every set has to meet my tone standards which are very high. I test every set before they leave the door. if they don’t sound the way I want them they get stripped and rewound. Thank you again for your purchase! I hope the set provides you with many happy years of playing. Ben

The pickups look like well built units. I still need to install them to hear how they sound. These look almost identical to vintage Stratocaster pickups.

Setup with 10-46's pretty much done but left some room for minor tweaking. Had rehearsal the other night and thought I'd share my initial impressions.
Through a Princeton with a touch of reverb I instantly fell in love with the bridge pickup and had to force myself to try the neck. Weirdly I'm more of a neck player but this bridge suits me so well I will definitely mix it up more. Previous bridge was a factory MIM Fender 'hot '60s' - just meh.
The neck unit is very sweet, and seems more sensitive to tonal adjustments than the bridge. That said, as you said, play around with it, and so I will.
Thanks for tapping the time to work with me on the custom order. I'll be back when my budget can allow repair of those shelved pickups.
Best Regards,
Rick

This is a set of P90's I made for Jimmie way back in my early days of winding. Its like a Strat set on steroids. It has a RWRP middle pickup. He mentions the pickups in the beginning of the video when he's going through the guitar and gear stuff. He mentions me by my name and not the business. Enjoy!
